How It Works
The Wizard Fire Pit uses a secondary burn. Oxygen is drawn into the fire pit from below and then heated inside the walls of the fire pit to 500°C.
The superheated air exits the holes in the top and ignites the smoke and excess gases initially produced by burning wood in the fire pit. Thus producing an ultra clean burn.

How is it smokeless?
Typically a fire pit is shaped like a bowl, you put wood in the bowl, then fire and smoke comes out of the bowl.
To describe it simply, the Wizard fire pit is like a bowl inside a bowl. Air is drawn into the fire pit from a vent at the bottom, this provides a lot of oxygen to the fire and secondly this air is heated between the walls of the fire pit.
The superheated air exits through holes at the top of the fire pit, reiginiting the smoke coming off the wood (smoke is imcomplete combusition of fuel).
This process is called secondary combustion.
Why a smokeless fire pit?
There are many benefits to a smokeless flame! Firstly no need to constantly dodge smoke, you can enjoy a night around the fire pit without smelling like one. With little to no smoke your Wizard fire pit is also more environmentally friendly.
Can I burn it on a wood deck?
Wizard Fire Pits can be used on a wooden deck, but requires your attention, and it should never be left unattended while burning.
All Wizard Fire Pits come with foldable legs to elevate it off the ground, allowing airflow to the cool the bottom and also draw fresh oxygen into the adjustable vents.
Even when using the foldable legs, wood and composite decking materials differ significantly in quality and treatment, and have varying heat resistance ratings.
To be extra safe, we do advise using one of our Wizard Heat Proof Mats to insulate your fire pit and to avoid potential damage.
Never leave your fire pit unattended on a combustible surface when hot - even while cooling down. Hot ashes can reignite and escape onto the surface.
How much height and side clearance do I need above my fire pit?
For the regular size and jumbo size Wizard Fire Pits, you will want a minimum height clearance of 5 metres from any structures or trees to be safe.
Also, a side clearance from any walls or tree of 2 metres.
Where can I use my fire pit?
Use it in your backyard or thanks to its portability you can use it at the beach or your next camping trip.
How do I clean out my fire pit?
When your wood is burned through completely, and your fire pit is cool, remove the ash pan from under your base plate and dump it.
Are they stationary, or can they be moved?
Yes, thanks to the unique design, our fire pits can be easily transported. There are 3 sizes available (Mini, Regular and Jumbo) and they only weigh 1.9kg, 11kg and 18kg respectively.
Why is my base plate removable?
As your wood burns on the base plate, the ashes will fall to the ash pan below. When it's done burning and completely cooled, you won't have to tip your fire pit over to get rid of ashes. A simple lift of the base plate and removal of the ash pan means you can easily clean your fire pit.
Will my bonfire be hot when in use?
YES! Do not touch your fire pit with barehands when in use. It should be treated like an open flame.
What type(s) of wood should I use as fuel?
Firstly, avoid using pine. It tends to burn with a lot of black soot because of the high resin content.
To get a really good smokeless flame, you must use quality, dry fuel. Correctly dried hardwoods such as Ash, Oak and Beech.
You can also has compressed wooden pellets but choose the ones made from hardwood for optimal results (it will say on the front of the packet)

We were looking for a fire pit for our small backyard and needed one preferably to sit on the deck and this is perfect.
When you first light it, it can smoke a little but very quickly settles to be totally smoke free.

Excellent, safe campfire. Easy to light & burns great. Only downside is the cost of accessories.
Its small but easy to transport
Great product -really good size for me - big enough for more than 1 person, but also small enough to fit in the car. Took off a star as it doesn't come with a carry bag, and there is no option to purchase one (only a waterproof cover which is not useful). It's the size people want to take camping, so really should come with something protective to carry it in - I've wrapped it up in a sheet to protect it while being transported. Other than that oversight, the actual product is really good and smokeless as advertised.

Perfect size, fits just nice in between seats of Horace camper for travel, yet big enough as centre piece on my deck. Impressed with build quality and flame control. The cooking grill is a must, just buy a good cast iron pan to go with it. Couldn’t be any happier with this buy, though it took ages to decide whether to go mini or regular, I’d say small is just perfect for so many different uses.
